FK Club Mix #1, Live at Robert Johnson @ Siestes Electroniques 2011 (part 1)

In this world of podcast overload sometimes we feel frustrated : we are now able to check on the current art of mixing of our favorite DJs more often than never before, but sometimes it just doesn't sound as good as what we get in the club. More than once DJ friends have told me how recording a podcast at home is annoying, and how they prefer to have the audience energy to rely on, which helps to get the right flow going.
We are launching today a new series of mixes that will only consist of live recordings of DJ sets. There is no other aim here than getting good memories about good nights, good sets, or getting a glimpse of the ones we wish we had attended. We don't know how frequently those will happen because it has to be a live recording (and we know there is a million other things to think about at a club other than recording a mix), and it has to be good. But believe me, the first one we have almost justifies the idea for itself.
After last year's great success of the Tigersushi Rave, Les Siestes Electroniques kept the concept of a club night dedicated to one label with Live at Robert Johnson, and they invited for this year edition Ata, Arto Mwambe, Oliver Hafenbauer & Prins Thomas. The solution we found with them and LARJ is to offer you four excerpts (each around half-an-hour) from the 4+ hours mix that was recorded. I find that even in this shorter form the music translates well the consistency of taste of all these DJs, their love for quality, song-oriented disco and house. One of these four mixes will be dropping every friday from today ; you can have fun trying to guess with us which DJ is responsible for which records. I hope you enjoy these as much as we do.
